Description |
The bottle is clear and cylindrical, tapering slightly toward the top, with a thick rim. Around the upper portion of the bottle, there are four elevated circles spaced evenly. On the front, at the bottom, there is an embossed inscription that reads, "CHAMBERSBURG DAIRY. 276-8 HOME AVE TRENTON, N.J. REGISTERED." On the back, there is a second embossed inscription that reads, "J.S. ONE QUART LIQUID," with "J.S." being significantly larger than the rest of the text. A third inscription on the bottom of the bottle reads, "J.S. MTC," with "J.S." also being larger than the other parts of the inscription. In the center of the bottom, there is an embossed circle. The top of the bottle is open, revealing the inside, which contains a white powdery substance, possibly flour. The bottle comes with six cardboard circles. Each circle has a white background, a red and black design, and a black inscription that reads, "PHONE 3-288! CHAMBERSBURG DAIRY, 276 HOME AVE. TRENTON, N.J. MILK PASTEURIZED DURING THE 24 HOUR PERIOD ENDING 6 A.M. SATURDAY TRENTON, N.J." According to Victor Opalski's obituary, Chambersburg Dairy, also known as Burg Dairy Ice Cream Company, was a dairy business in Trenton, New Jersey, during the 20th century. For most of its existence, the company was owned by Victor Opalski. They sold a variety of products, including ices, ice cream, sherbet, soda, cigarettes, candy, chips, sandwiches, and milk. And finally, there are white accretions all over the top. Right Side: There are abrasions throughout. Also, there are white discolorations all over the top. Back: There are abrasions throughout.
