Description |
A light blue cylindrical-shaped bottle with embossed inscriptions on the front and back. The bottle narrows significantly near the top and features an applied blob rim. The inscription on the front reads, "G&H. THIS BOTTLE NOT TO BE SOLD," with the letters and symbol "G&H" stacked on top of one another. The inscription on the back reads, "GRIMES & HOWARD. TRENTON, N.J. REGISTERED," with "GRIMES & HOWARD. TRENTON, N.J." written vertically. The top of the bottle is open, revealing the inside, and the bottom of the bottle is slightly caved in. According to the 1898 and 1899 editions of Tom F. Fitzgerald's Trenton and Mercer County Directory, Grimes & Howard was a bottling company that existed from 1898 to 1899. Overall: There are abrasions and accretions throughout. Front: There are tiny abrasions all over the bottle. Also, there is a black accretion on top near the right side. Right Side: There are tiny abrasions all over. There is a fairly large vertical abrasion on top near the left side. And finally, there is a scratch on top near the middle. Back: There are tiny abrasions all over. Left Side: There are tiny abrasions all over. Also, there are white accretions all over. Top: There are tiny abrasions all over the rim. Bottom: There are tiny abrasions all over. There is a light blue discoloration on top near the left edge. And finally, there is a brown accretion on top near the left edge. |
